Further to yesterday's post about the meeting with Bucks County Council, I attended the Leader's Advisory Group Meeting (LAG Meeting) with Abla Seckley (MYP for Aylesbury Vale) today to submit my reform proposals to the CitizenCard Scheme.

Summary of HS2 Proposal (11/01/12)

As you may be aware, the Government has given the go ahead for HS2 yesterday. The announcement was made by Justine Greening, the Transport Secretary, inside the House of Commons. So what does this mean? Here is an overview:
  • Phase 1 of HS2 (line from London to Birmingham) is due to be completed by 2026.
  • Phase 2 of HS2 (lines from Birmingham to Leeds and Manchester) is due to be completed 2033.
  • The total cost of HS2 is estimated to be in the region of £33 billion.
